Adven

The company wanted to streamline the maintenance practices of its various facilities and improve planning practices.

Project in brief

New system introduced

The maintenance system and operation dairy were introduced in five pilot plants in 2012. After the pilot stage, new facilities have been added to the system continuously.

The goal

The intention was to increase planning and maintain predictability in maintenance, as well as to harmonize operating methods.

Current state

Today, systems serve as the key tools for operational management.

Government regulations have become more stringent. Nowadays, all power plants of more than 5 megawatts must have a maintenance system. All plants are required to maintain a diary

The challenge: The maintenance practices of more than 100 facilities needed more planning

The company wanted to streamline the maintenance practices of its various facilities and improve planning practices. As their tools, they selected Pinja’s maintenance system and operational diary.

According to Adven’s production engineer Leo Veske, the diary acts as the facility’s log. All plant visits and even the smallest maintenance events are recorded in it. Larger repairs and maintenances, on the other hand, are recorded in the maintenance system.

The tools were introduced in five pilot plants in 2012. After the pilot stage, new facilities have been added to the system continuously.

The solution: The electronic system reliably records maintenance procedures and documents related to the equipment

Adven’s heating plant operators Pekka Krum and Tero Saarela consider the user diary to be a handy and easy-to-use tool. Men use it daily.

– We visit several institutions every day and record the visits and the maintenance measures taken in a diary. In connection with the service label, a description of the parts used in the service, for example, received from the supplier, can be attached as a pdf file, Saarela says.

The work of operation managers is also made easier when they can closely monitor the progress of the work and receive the reports they need quickly and in real time.

– In order to improve the planning of our operations and to harmonize the operations of our plants, we needed an electronic system in which we can reliably record operation and maintenance measures and store documents related to the equipment. The recording measures had to be able to be proportionate to the size of the plant. Pinja responded to our wishes and provided a maintenance system to suit our needs. The operation diary was introduced in the company without separate training. Our cooperation has been fruitful. Now, the maintenance system and operation diary are key tools in our operational management.
